Cathedral Parish Festival in Przemysl, Poland

The Cathedral parish festival was held on the 7th July 2017. The event commenced with the Pontifical Divine Liturgy celebrated by Most Rev. Eugeniusz Popowicz – the Archbishop and Metropolitan of Przemysl – Warsaw of the Greek Catholic Church in Poland; Most Rev. Vasyl (Tuchapets) OSBM – The Exarch of Kharkiv, Ukraine; Most Rev. Jan Martyniak – the Archbishop emeritus of the Archdiocese of Przemysl – Warsaw; Most Rev. Stanislaw Jamrozek – the Auxiliary Bishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Przemysl; Rev. Mitred Bogdan Stepan – the pastor of St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Przemysl and many other distinguished clergymen.
The sermon was delivered by Most Rev. Vasyl (Tuchapets). He concentrated on the person of St. John the Baptist.
After the Divine Liturgy, the pastor of the Cathedral welcomed all guests – both the clergy and the faithful. Moreover, he directed a special name day’s welcoming at Most Rev. Jan Martyniak.
Subsequently, Most Rev. Eugeniusz Popowicz thanked young parishoners who contribute to the pastoral life of the Cathedral either by singing in a church choir (Rev. Mykhailo Verbytsky Church Choir) or by serving as altar boys.
Celebrations concluded with the Rite of Blessing of Holy Water conducted by Most Rev. Jan Martyniak.
At the end, the Cathedral Choir sang the spiritual anthem of Ukraine „Boghe Velykyy, Yedynyy …”
