On the 13th June 2017, Most Rev. Eugeniusz Popowicz, the Archbishop and Metropolitan of Przemysl – Warsaw met with Most Rev. Henryk Hoser, the Archbishop of Warsaw – Praga, Poland of the Roman Catholic Church. The main subject of the meeting concerned Ukrainian migrants in Warsaw. The bulk of them reside within the Diocese of Warsaw – Praga. Also, the meeting was attended by Rev. Bogdan Kruba – the pastor of Blessed Mikolaj Czarnecki Greek Catholic parish in Warsaw (the parish was erected in order to serve Ukrainian migrants living in Warsaw).
The current influx of economic migrants from Ukraine to Warsaw exceeds rather meager possibilities of the two existing Greek Catholic parishes in the capital. Therefore, Most Rev. Eugeniusz Popowicz requested Most Rev. Henryk Hoser to allow Greek Catholic services in next two Roman Catholic churches, so that Ukrainians who come to Poland are not devoid of proper pastoral service in their rite.
Abp. Henryk Hoser promised to grant proper help.
