Introducing the Strategy „The Vibrant Parish” – A Coordination Meeting

The town of Kniazyce, Ukraine (near Kyiv) is hosting a coordination meeting about introducing the strategy of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church „The Vibrant Parish – the UGCC Strategy 2020.” Participants of the meeting include, coordinators from each eparchy and ekzarchate of the UGCC in the world. The Archdiocese of Przemysl – Warsaw’s coordinator is Rev. Pawel Potoczny, the pastor of the Zelichowo parish, and the Diocese of Wroclaw – Gdansk’s representative is Rev. Bogdan Haluszka, the diocese’s protopriest.

The main topic of this year’s meeting is the subsequent point of the strategy – Serving Thy Neighbour – Diakonia. Proceedings include meetings with representatives of various social organizations and volunteers who do social work in the UGCC, analyzing the statistics (collected in 2013-2015), discussing strenghts of strategic tasks and cosidering how to solve day-to-day difficulties in pastoral work.

Participants, apart from conference duties, spend their time on prayer and consideration of the Holy Writ. The agenda includes e.g. concerted reading of the Holy Writ, using the Lektio divina method. Additionally, they are able to hear Rev. Piotr Zuk’s (the rector of the Seminary in Kyiv) preaching.

 

The meeting concludes on 2nd December 2016.
