Pope Francis has appointed the ordinary of the Intercession of the Theotokos Ukrainian Greek Catholic Eparchy of Buenos Aires

Most Rev, Danyil (Kozlinskyy) was born on the 18th February 1952 in the town of Paraiso (Parana State, Brasil). His spiritual education began at the Lower Ukrainian Seminary of St. Josaphat in Mallet and later was continued at the Roman Catholic diocesan seminary of St. Joseph in Ponta Grossa and St. Basil the Great school in Curitiba. He was awarded degrees in Philosophy and Theology in Rome and Brasil, and on the 10th Februrary 1980 was ordained as a priest. In 2006, he got a bachelor’s degree in chaplaincy for the youth and religious education at Salesian Pontifical University in Rome.

In June 2007, Pope Benedict XVI, appointed Fr. Danyil Kozlinskyy as auxiliary bishop of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Eparchy of Curitiba, Brasil. He was responsible for chaplaincy in Union-da-Victoria region. On the 22nd June 2011, when the former Apostolic Administrator of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Argentina, Most Rev. Sviatoslav Shevchuk, was appointed as the head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Most Rev. Danyil Kozlinskyy took the vacated position.

In 2013, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him as the Apostolic visitor for Ukrainian Greek Catholics in Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile and Venezuela.

On Saturday, 8th October 2016, the Holy See officially informed that Pope Francis ordained Most Rev. Danyil (Kozlinskyy Netto) as the bishop of the Intercession of the Theotokos Ukrainian Greek Catholic Eparchy of Buenos Aires.
