On Tuesday 27th September, Gorowo Ilaweckie parish celebrated its indulgence – Elevation of the Holy Cross.
Celebrations commenced with Great Vespers with Litany on Monday evening. Afterwards, Rev. Bogdan Kryk organised a vigil for the local youth in front of the Icon of the Mother of God „The Gate of Mercy.”
The festive morning began with the Divine Liturgy for the elderly. The main celebrations took place in the afternoon and were headed by Rev. Arkadiusz Trochanowski, Ph.D. from Walcz, Poland – the dean of the Koszalin Deanery. Moleben in honour of Jesus Christ was celebrated by Rev. Jan Haluszka from Olsztyn, Poland. In the meantime, Fr. Grzegorz Stolycia, the Archdiocese’s missionary of mercy, and other priests heard confessions. The festive Divine Liturgy was celebrated by Rev. Mitred Jan Lajkosz, the pastor, Rev. A. Maslej, Rev. R. Storoniak, Rev. P. Potoczny and Rev. B. Kryk. The indulgence welcomed faithful from neighbouring parishes. Celebrations were concluded with a procession and blessing of water.
